Last night, I went to bed at about 9 o’clock, which is very early. But, because of that, I woke up at 6:30 AM. I felt so well that I had a lot of energy, and my brain was very clear. That is why I was very productive in the morning, reading, writing a blog post, and studying French. Actually, I did not study French today… Anyway, I had lunch, which was all the leftovers that I had in my fridge and Japanese noodles.
After a short nap, I got a call from a Judo person whom I contacted yesterday. He lives in Toulouse, and I am going there after leaving here, so I contacted him. I did not receive any messages from him yesterday, so I was kind of nervous that he might not be able to see my messages somehow. I took my phone and answered. I said “Hello?”, and he responded in Japanese. I was surprised by how fluent he is in Japanese. As I started having a conversation with him, he seemed like a nice person. He asked me some questions like how old I am and when I am going there. And then, he said that he was going to make a plan for me and call me again. I was glad that he responded to my messages. That was a very short call, like 3-5 minutes.
After that, I went downstairs to start writing a blog again because holing up in my room drives me crazy. As I was writing with my laptop, an old woman who looked in her 40s or 50s entered this building. After a while, she started talking to an old guy who also lives here. They looked so close that it made me think that they are engaged. I have no idea, and I do not really care. While I was staying there for about 2-3 hours, they kept talking. I found out that she lives here, but I have never seen her since I came here. Maybe she was staying somewhere else or traveling. Who knows? A new neighbor.
Since I got tired of writing my blog, I went to a supermarket. I did not have any food that I could eat tonight. Conveniently, there is a decent supermarket 10 minutes walk away from the building. In the store, I always check the discount section. I found pork steaks, which were about 4 Euros for more than 1 kg, and chicken thighs. So, I bought them. Other than that, I bought some frozen vegetables, coffee, eggs, and pasta sauce. I hope that I can eat all of the food that I bought before I leave here. In the case that I can’t eat all of them, I am going to give them to my neighbors. After coming back, I started cooking my dinner. Since there is no rice cooker here, I have to cook rice in a pot. I tried a couple of times, and I failed. An American told me that I should put more water, so I tried his way, and it was much better. I was kind of embarrassed that I was taught how to cook rice by an American guy as a Japanese person. I was kind of happy how it came out, although its taste was still something off. I also cooked the pork steaks with the frozen vegetables. Since the steaks were so cheap, I was worried about the taste, but it was delicious. Even though I ate two pieces of them, there are still about 6 pieces left. It was a great deal. I hope that I won’t have a tummy ache tomorrow, though.
That’s it for today. It feels strange to have that amount of time because I was very busy while I was in the US. I prefer being busier. Everything feels more comfortable now, but I should not stay in this environment, even if I would like to stay here. One more week, and that’s it. Good night.
