I could not sleep well. I felt a bit tired in the morning, but I was forced to wake up by the sounds everyone was making since they had also gotten up. Since it was my last stay there, I packed everything and got ready to leave the hostel.
As I was doing that, the woman I had argued with was arguing with a person who was sleeping on the top bunk. Her bed was the bottom bunk. She said, “Stop moving around. You woke me up.” Unfortunately, he did not speak English. She did not care and kept saying the same thing over and over again. The guy responded by saying something in his language. I am sure that he did not really move enough to wake her up. I was sure that she had created the problem herself. I really felt bad for him having to sleep in the same bunk bed.
After leaving the room, I checked out. As I was checking out, I told the receptionist about the woman. They also recognized that she had an issue, but the receptionist said that it was her responsibility to deal with it.
I went to a different Starbucks to buy a cup of coffee, which I ended up bringing back to the hostel. I eventually spent some time on the ground floor of the hostel. As I was relaxing, I heard somebody yelling. I found out that one of the receptionists was having a big argument with the woman. The two sentences I heard were the receptionist saying, “Get out!” and the woman responding, “You, get out!”
The receptionist was so pissed that he kept complaining about her for the next 10 minutes or so to other guests. I am sure that she had been creating a lot of problems at the hostel. I was glad not to see her again. I mean, she was one of the main reasons I decided to leave the hostel and stay somewhere else.
After having lunch in the near open-air restaurant where I had dinner before and leaving the hostel, I went to the National Museum of Malaysia to learn about the history of Malaysia. It was fascinating to learn that this country gained independence after being colonized by Portugal, the Netherlands, Japan, and the British. At the same time, it was sad to see that it had been invaded by other countries because of its convenient and beneficial location for them.
I stayed there for about 90 minutes. I then started heading to another hostel that I had booked. I took the metro. After getting off the metro, I walked for more than 15 minutes to get to the building where the hostel was located.
There was a security guard in front of the door. I asked him where the hostel was. He told me to show him my booking details, which felt a bit strange. After checking them, he told me which floor I should go to. Then I understood why he had checked my booking details.
I entered the building and went to the designated floor. I found the hostel and checked in at the reception. The woman who was wearing green-colored contact lenses asked me for a deposit and gave me a key.
The one thing that surprised and pleased me was that guests could use a gym, pool, and sauna located on the third floor for free.
After relaxing and exploring the hostel a bit, I went to the gym to train, although I was a bit tired. The gym was small and unorganized, but it was enough for a person who wanted to train for a while. For about an hour, I was completely focused on my training, which made me feel great, although my upper body was exhausted.
After the training, I went to a popular open-air restaurant called 168 Claypot Chicken Rice on foot. Although it was only 17:30, there were already many Chinese customers. One of the waiters asked me whether I wanted a big one or a small one. The big one was expensive, so I ordered a small one without expecting much from the food.
I sat down at one of the tables and waited. Just a few minutes later, I was served a large pot, which made me say, “Is it small? It is very big!” like a guy who barely knew any English.
The pot was packed with rice, chicken, and brown sauce. I wish there had been more chicken, but the taste was delicious, and the portion was amazing for just 15 MYR ($3.60). I was satisfied with the meal and headed back to the hostel.
I tried the sauna and pool afterward, which made me feel ready for bed. However, there was only one fan in each bedroom, so it was hot inside, although they started turning on the air conditioner after 7 PM. Because it was so warm in the bed, I was able to fall asleep at about 10 PM.
