I woke up at 7 o’clock. I have been trying to wake up at 6 o’clock, but for some reason, I have never been able to stick to it. Waking up at 7 is perfect for me. A couple of years ago, I tried to make a habit of waking up at 5, and it didn’t work for me. Anyway, after that, I continued to read an English book that I bought here from the US. I have been genuinely enjoying it even if this is the second time of read it. After that, I studied French and tried to figure out how to log in to my other blog account. Since I went to the US, I made a new account as an English account, but I feel like it is expensive to keep both accounts.
The American guy and I planned to go to lunch together the other day, so we went to a Chinese buffet restaurant. Maybe this is a good opportunity to talk about him. I am not going to reveal his personal information deeper, though. As I mentioned before in my diary, he and I came to France pretty much at the same time. I heard from the owner of this building that there is also another person who stays in this apartment and speaks English because he is from the US. Since then, I was looking for the guy. And one day, I found a guy who was doing something on his laptop in the morning without light in the dining area. I was not sure if he was the American guy, but I tried to talk to him, and bingo. He was the American guy that I was curious about. As I talked with him, it turned out that he speaks English and Spanish, and he wants to start an English teaching business in Mexico. I thought that was cool. More importantly, I was happy that I found a guy with whom I can communicate during this stay. I thought I was going to be alone in this apartment surrounded by other French people. He is a nice person, and sometimes gives me some advice because he has a lot of experience going to other countries. He and I can share the feelings of staying here as a foreigner. He has different perspectives from mine on something, but I do not care. Nobody has the same perspectives as mine, of course. It’s just relief that I could find a person that I can talk to daily outside the dojo. He is leaving here for Spain and Portugal 4 days after I leave. I am leaving next week, so I will probably miss him. I was lucky to be his friend. How many percentage do you think it is that you can find a person who is from the US and stays in the same apartment in a small city in France? On the way to the buffet and the dormitory, we had a random conversation on a bus. It was fun to spend time together with him.
After coming back, I was writing an article on another blog site. Also, I went to an Internet service shop to buy a SIM card because I couldn’t buy one without my passport yesterday. Different people dealt with me, and she is definitely a new worker, and she told me the different things that another guy I met yesterday told me. I was worried about it, so I made sure that I could use the card for 2 months because I am planning to stay in France for 2 months. I think that they were kind of bothered by my English. Yesterday, the guy told me it costs only 30 Euros for 150 GB, and if my phone reaches the data limit, I need to recharge it, no matter how long I use it. On the other hand, she told me that I need to come back one month later to recharge it. It is confusing because what they are saying is different. Finally, they charged me about 50 Euros, including tax. And she said that I can use the SIM card for 2 months. But I am very worried about it because of her behavior inside the shop. Hopefully, I can use the SIM card for 2 months without recharging it. It was a little bit annoying experience. Maybe it was because of me. I could not communicate with them in French, which might have bothered them. Fingers crossed. At least, I do not have to depend on the Wi-Fi anymore.
Because of all the food that I ate at the buffet, I was not hungry, so I ate only chicken for dinner.
This weekend, I do not have anything that I need to do, except for a competition that I might go to on Sunday. I am going to take advantage of the plenty of time studying, learning, and writing blogs. Bye.
